SEPTEMBER 11....A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET
First off let me just say that if you know me, you know I love History! I just love learning about our country and what has happened throughout the years. I love it so much that I majored in History during college. I have always loved this country and what we stand for....FREEDOM. I can still remember where I was and what I was doing when I found out about the terrorist attack. Back then I was just a young niave young women who lived in a little bubble where I thought everything was pretty much perfect. Never in a million years did I think I would live to see something like this happen. I was in college at the time and I worked at Eckerd Drug Store. That morning, I was at work and when we found out the news everyone was shocked. My boss got a call from her husband, who was in the Navy at the time. He told her to turn on the t.v. and gave her a brief indicatin of what was happening and then he had to go. We went in the break room and turned on the television and slowly started figuring out what was going on. Needless to say we were in disbelief. I will always remember the shock I felt and the sadness that I felt for the amazing individuals that went through the events of that day first hand. I am so thankful for the brave men, woman, children, rescue people, bystanders, etc who gave their lives on that day. I don't think anyone can ever say thank you enough to our men and women who serve our country and give their lives also.
Warren joined the Coast Guard in November 01'. He served active duty for 4 years and then got out right after Hurricane Katrina only to realize how much he missed it and rejoined the reserves in July 09'. He truely loves being in the military and loves what he does and I am so pround of him for it!
