Friday morning whe Maggie woke up she discoverd an elf! I read her the "The Elf on the Shelf" book and she named her elf Lucy. I explained to her that Lucy was watching her and reporting back to Santa on her behavior. Every morning Maggie wakes up and runs to see where "Lucy" is hiding. As each day goes by she gets more into the concept of what's going on. She tells me throughout the day that "Lucy" is watching her and "she is gonna tell Santa that I have been good." So far the elf has been helpful, but believe me....she still has her moments :)
