SURGERY...
Warren had his surgery Tuesday morning and everything turned out great! A friend of ours was his nurse, so we were glad about that! They took him back around 8:20 and said that the Dr should be ready to talk to us in about an hour and a half. Right on time, they called myself and Mrs. Sue back and the Dr told us what he had done. THe Dr said that he ended up having to fix something else whe he went in. Originally we thought that it was a torn rotator cuff that was giving Warren so many problems...and the Dr did say that his RC did up being torn 20%, but that he also had a torn labrum. The torn labrum is what was giving him so much pain...it's something that did not show up on the MRI. The Dr told Mrs. Sue and I that "he had the same surgery as Drew Brees." He told us that he would be in a sling for 6 weeks with NO lifting for 3 months! All I could think was....WOW!
We ended up getting home around noon Tuesday and Warren was pretty much out of it for the rest of the day. Yesterday, Warren woke up feeling great! I say great because I would probably milk a surgery...at least for a few days :). He can do most things by himself(using his left arm). The main things that I have ti help him with is bathing and getting dressed. He hasn't had a lot of pain(maybe that has something to do with his meds) but he has a high tollerance, hence the reason he has waited a year to complain about shoulder pain. We went to the Dr this morning and he took off the dressing and said that everything looked great! He has a PT appointment in 2 weeks and goes back to the DR in 4 weeks. I think he gave Warren a little bit of hope by saying that he may only have to wear the slng for 4 weeks instead of 6. Anyways all went well, and we are so thankful!
Here he is with his sling and ice pack thing(he has to wear the sling pretty much all of the time, except baths, changing clothes, etc)
