OH...THE PLACES THE FLU WILL TAKE YOU!
Saturday morning at 5:50, Maggie woke me up with, "mommy, I don't feel good." I felt her forhead and she was burning up...102. I just knew she had the flu...she NEVER runs fever, so when she does, something is wrong. I gave her some motrin and we went back to sleep until around 8:30, when she slid out of the bed and said she was going to play! I had a little glimmer of hope that her temp had been a fluke...but it was not to be, and we went to the Dr, and got a swab, and it was in fact the flu. Everything seemed pretty fine...we went and got the tamaflu and 15 min after she took it, the vomitting began. 12 times in 5 hours to be exact. She could not hold down ANYTHING, her meds, gatorade, crackers, bread...everytime she ate or drank something, I would just pray that she would keep it down, because I knew eventually, we were gonna have to call the Dr because she wasn't getting any medecine. We called around 5 and explained what had been going on. Fourtunatly, the Dr was making her rounds on the ped floor. She wanted us to bring Maggie so she could look at her. Maggie vomitted again while we were there and she said she was keeping her. Warren stayed in for the iv and blood work...that wasnt pretty, but after a few hours of fluids and zofran, she was a whole different little girl! Thankgoodness...I hate when my baby is sick. By Sunday morning she was feeling way better...had a little fever but was keeping meds and food/drink down with no problem! We were realeased Sunday evening...thank you Jesus! We have just been taking it easy. Maggie still has fever, so she will miss school and dance tomorrow and I guess we will see how tomorrow goes as far as school and dance on Wednesday. Thank you Jesus that my little girl is on the mend!
