I opted to wait until the next morning to take her anywhere, so I wrapped it and prayed that the next morning it would look much better. No such luck! Fast forward to a visit to her DR, being immediately sent to an ortho and here you have it....
This was our friend for 3 weeks. The worst part of the cast was bath time, but we made it through! Praise God! We returned to the Dr 3 weeks later and his first plan was another cast for 3 weeks. We were bummed. He then started feeling around on her ankle and he said, "well maybe 2 weeks will do." I was SO excited. 2 weeks sounded ALOT better than 3 weeks. We lucked out. He then said that if they had a boot(air cast) small enough, that she could wear that for 2 weeks. Low and behold they did, and so we left in that....
And yes, we have on shorts in January....that's how we roll in the deep South! Anyways, we were so excited to take this off to bathe and sleep. I will admit, I was super nervous being that she gave no mercy to her ankle. She ran around, jumped, hopped, skipped, flipped, you name it, she probably did it. I kept telling her that she was going to end up having to get another cast when we went back. We went back last Wednesday, and praise God, it is healed. She is now in a brace for 3 weeks and when she is at dance or playing ball, it's 6 weeks. We are excited to be back to our "normal." Well, at least I am. I don't think that darn cast phased her a bit!
