DESTIN 2015

Every summer, my mom, me, my sister, and brother and all of our spouses and kids are blessed with a week long beach trip....compliments of my mom!  She is so sweet to treat all of us to this special family time.  We always have a blast and are sad to leave.  This year was no different.  We had BEAUTIFUL weather the entire week.  We were so thankful for that!

We got to the beach on July 5 and stayed until the 12th.  This was the first year that we have gone the week after the 4th.  We usually go the week of the 4th.  We were pleasantly surprised that this week was more enjoyable for us.  It was a lot less crowded and it just seemed more slow paced.

My brother brought his boat down, so we had a lot of boat time, which we loved.  We usually rent a pontoon for the day when we go, but this time, we were able to go out whenever we wanted!

Every year, we always go ahead and go to the grocery store when we get there so that it is out of the way for the rest of the week.  We end up having to pick up a few extras here and there, but the BIG trip is done!  This year was no different, so we ended up back at the villa Sunday evening and the kids got in their first swim.

Monday, we headed out to a sandbar.  The kids played and played their hearts out.  Maggie hardly EVER got out of the water.  She has always been such a little water girl :).  We also went to the sandbar Tuesday and Wednesday as well.  We all had a blast!  Thursday, we went to Seaside and then back to Destin to the beach!  Friday, we took one last boat trip to the sandbar and Saturday, we spent all day at the beach.
